Seeking Associate Editor
Pediatric Research is seeking an Associate Editor for the Population Studies section. The new Associate Editor will join two experienced editors and will evaluate manuscripts assigned by the Section Editor or the Editor-in-Chief, consider each manuscript, decide whether each manuscript should be reviewed, and invite external reviewers.
When manuscripts have been reviewed by external reviewers, the Associate Editor will evaluate the reviewers' comments, in combination with his or her opinion of the manuscript and make a preliminary decision/recommendation. When revised manuscripts are submitted, the Associate Editor will evaluate the authors' revisions and make a determination about the revised manuscript.
The editors in the Population Studies Section manage manuscripts on an extremely wide variety of topics that range from the perinatal period to adolescence. The manuscripts vary widely, from invited commentaries to surveys, case-control studies, and systematic reviews / meta-analyses.
Associate Editors for Pediatric Research are recognized on the masthead, invited to Board meetings and dinners twice a year, may participate in monthly calls and join an editorial board of 55 editors across many pediatric disciplines. Associate editors are assisted in learning the ScholarOne submission platform and have access to a wealth of education materials on publishing.
Individuals interested in joining the editorial team for Population Studies should have a firm grounding in general pediatrics with additional training or research experience in epidemiology or population studies.
Interested candidates should send a CV and a 1 page letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, June 30th to be considered.
